Double Music

Slagwerk Den Haag celebrated its own 35th anniversary and the 100th anniversary of John Cage's birth with Double Music, a programme featuring seven new duo pieces by fourteen composers, inspired by Double Music by John Cage and Lou Harrison. 

Arnoud Noordegraaf interviewed all fourteen composers, asking them about the composition process. The interviews were compiled into video portraits, which were then interspersed through the Double Music programme giving an interesting peek behind the scenes. 

The original work by John Cage and Lou Harrison was obviously included in the programme. The new duo pieces were written by:

• Huba de Graaff & Jan van de Putte 
• Pete Harden & Oscar Bettison 
• Yannis Kyriakides & Marko Ciciliani 
• Tom Johnson & Luiz Henrique Yudo 
• Peter Adriaansz & Maarten Altena.
